Professor Couzis is a chemical engineer specializing in surface and interface science, electrochemistry, and nanomaterials. With a B.E. from the National Technical University of Athens Greece, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, he has held positions at The City College of New York, Urban Electric Power (a CCNY spin-off) and International Paper.

The groups research focus is on nanostructured surfaces, polymeric materials, and electrochemical systems, with applications in renewable energy, advanced sensors, and sustainable manufacturing. We are committed to innovation in battery technology, surface engineering, and sustainable urban systems, ensuring that science and engineering contribute to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
