Professor Couzis is a chemical engineer specializing in surface and interface science, electrochemistry, and nanomaterials. With a B.E. from the National Technical University of Athens Greece, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, he has held positions at The City College of New York, Urban Electric Power (a CCNY spin-off) and International Paper.
The groups research focus is on nanostructured surfaces, polymeric materials, and electrochemical systems, with applications in renewable energy, advanced sensors, and sustainable manufacturing.
