The Couzis Research Group focuses on advancing materials science, interfacial phenomena, and electrochemical systems, with applications in energy storage, sustainable engineering, and advanced manufacturing. The group is particularly engaged in developing next-generation battery technologies, engineering functional surfaces, and optimizing materials for renewable energy applications.

At the Grove School of Engineering at CCNY, the group collaborates on interdisciplinary projects in sustainable urban infrastructure, electrochemical devices, and smart materials. Research is supported by NSF, NASA, DoD, and DOE, with a commitment to developing practical engineering solutions that drive technological innovation and sustainability.
